I have been of the Depo shot since September.I have not had a “full” period since then.I have had light blood flow maybe 3 times since then but it only lasted about a day. I recently had unprotected sex (about 2 weeks ago) I did have cramps yesterday and have had vaginal discharge and clots (but no blood). Is there a chance I am pregnant or have contracted a STD?

Depot shots are over 98% effective at preventing pregnancy. Clots are a known side effect of depo formulations of birth control and are not a sign or symptom of pregnancy. However, your vaginal discharge are more likely to be related to a sexually transmitted disease. Therefore, you should be evaluated and tested by your gynecologist.
