Pregabalin (Lyrica) is a neurologic agent that is used to treat neuropathic pain from diabetes, herpes, fibromyalgia, and also for the treatment of seizures. Rarely, Pregabalin can cause severe skin reactions such as blisters, rashes, and skin breakdown.
Pregabalin has a half-life of 6.3 hours and is excreted mainly unchanged in the urine. Therefore, depending on the dose of pregabalin you were taking (anywhere from 25 mg to 300 mg either once daily or three times daily) and what the drug levels in your blood are, it could take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks to clear the drug from your system. With a moderate rash, healthy patients can expect start seeing improvement within a week and expect significant clearing within a month.
