I have rosacea and sometimes get acne pretty bad on my cheeks, especially if I drink the night before or get stressed out. I use gentle soap and lotion on my face, but acne cream makes my face turn really red. is there anything I can use to clear up the acne?

Rosacea is a chronic acne-like skin condition that predominantly affects adults with fair skin. It can present with red discoloration, dry cracking skin, visible blood vessels, and/or pimples over the nose and cheeks.
For treating mild acne with rosacea, topical metronidazole is usually the first line treatment and has proven to be a very effective and cheap way to control the red spots. Topical metronidazole is available as a cream, emolient, gel, or lotion. Other treatment options include using topical azelaic acid, isoretinoin creams, oral antibiotics, and photodynamic dynamic therapy.
