I’m having breakouts of what I think are boils on my genitals, butt and inner thighs. They come and then go away, sometimes when they go away they leave marks. Also, sometimes they bust and pus comes out. The inside of my thighs have a darkish tent to it. Is that normal? I’m 21 and a Native American, I heard that is a factor. Is it genetic? How do I treat it?

Proper hygiene is required to prevent breakouts in the genital region. It is important to keep the area clean and dry. Washing with a gentle antibacterial cleanser helps eliminate bacteria. Trimming pubic hair instead of shaving may be beneficial as shaving bumps can harbor bacteria. Genital area acne creams or antibacterial ointments can also help treat the acne. Lastly, to prevent the spread of bacteria, you should avoid popping the pimples.
